IT infrastructure,
that just works.

I plan, build, and manage networks, servers, and databases for small and medium businesses — from the firewall to the backup strategy. One point of contact, clear communication, clean documentation.

FW

Firewall

Design and configuration of firewall rule sets to protect your network, inbound and outbound.

Work

Selected projects

Two examples from real client work — anonymized, but with real starting points and real results.

Server migration & network segmentation

Starting point

A client in Bavaria was running several virtual machines on aging, increasingly slow server hardware. The network had grown organically over the years with no segmentation at all — every device on a single flat network.

What I did

Sourced and set up new, appropriately sized server hardware and migrated all VMs. In parallel, redesigned the network from scratch with proper VLAN segmentation and a matching firewall rule set.

Result

Noticeably better VM performance, significantly reduced downtime risk, and a network where a security incident can no longer spread unchecked.

Cleaning up a Raspberry Pi fleet

Starting point

Another client ran 7 Raspberry Pis in continuous operation. Over time the systems had become cluttered — inconsistent software versions, no monitoring, no secure remote access.

What I did

Depending on condition, I either built images and rolled them out to new hardware, or fully reinstalled the devices. Added a VPN connection for secure remote access, ongoing monitoring, and automated patching across all devices.

Result

A consistent, maintainable baseline across all 7 devices, secure remote access, and noticeably less manual maintenance thanks to automated updates.

As an IT service provider, I help small and medium businesses build IT infrastructure that's reliable, secure, and easy to maintain. My focus is on networks, database systems, and virtualization.

Before starting this business on the side, I spent several years working for mid-sized companies in critical infrastructure — and I'm still with one of them today. That experience feeds directly into every project — pragmatic, well documented, without unnecessary complexity.

It matters to me that you, as a client, always understand what's happening in your infrastructure. That's why every project comes with clear documentation and one fixed point of contact — me.

FAQ

Questions & answers

The things that come up most often before a first contact. Something missing? Just ask in the contact form.

How does working together usually go?
It starts with a short, no-obligation initial conversation — by phone, video, or in person. We clarify the situation and scope. After that, you'll get a transparent quote. Once commissioned, implementation happens with ongoing coordination, and every project ends with clear documentation of what was done.
Do you work remotely or on-site?
Both. Many things — server administration, database maintenance, setting up monitoring — can be handled remotely. Network planning, hardware setup, or cabling usually make more sense on-site. Engagements are available throughout Bavaria.
How quickly can I expect a reply?
Usually within one business day for inquiries via the contact form or email.
How does billing work?
Based on actual time spent. Before any project starts, you get a transparent quote based on the initial conversation — no hidden costs, no surprises on the invoice.
Is this worthwhile for smaller businesses too?
Yes — the focus is deliberately on small and medium businesses. Projects don't need to be big: from maintaining a handful of systems to a complete network and server overhaul, it's all in scope.
Is VAT charged?
No. Vitus IT Solutions is a small business under German tax law (§ 19 UStG, "Kleinunternehmer") — invoices are issued without VAT accordingly.
